My Entrance

Hello internet, this is Kyle Pulley, the other half of the Headroom Recording studio. I've been working like mad on my band's record, Dangerous Ponies self titled LP all summer and I couldn't find the time to post on this thing, but now here I am!

There has been a lot going on this past few months for me in the studio. As I already mentioned, the Dangerous Ponies record took up most of my summer. we decided to multitrack 16 songs and mix them in 2.5 months. It was really quite crazy! we tracked everything to 2 inch 24 track tape, everything one at a time, except for bass and drums which we did at the same time. Once we filled up all of the tape, we dumped it down to the computer to continue recording tracks. with 3 guitars, drums, bass, keyboard, lead and 3 and 4 part harmonies, strings, horns and other random tracks, we ended up with 50 plus tracks a song sometimes. Once it was all tracked, we mixed it in logic pro, and sent tracks out of speakers into our huge garage and rerecorded it to put a lush reverb glaze over the whole album. Its finally over, and I'm very proud of it.

It will be released on Philadelphia's own Punk Rock Payroll records oct 15. I will post a link to music as soon as it is released!

The other exciting release I've been anticipating is the Grandchildren "Everlasting" LP that was released this last tuesday, sept 28 on green owl records, a warner subsidiary owned by ben bronfman, m.i.a.'s baby dadddy. This was one of my first real full length's that i worked on. The album was entirely recorded by the singer, aleks martray, in his bedroom, except for the drums which were recorded at the headroom. We then spend 4 long painstaking months mixing the record. Aleks was a very demanding artist, and certainly kept me on my toes, but he knew exactly what he wanted it to sound like, and I was more than happy to oblige. I am also extremely proud of the way that this album turned out, and am so happy it is finally coming out after a year of waiting! You can hear cuts from the album here,

This last weekend I also worked on local philly band Kite Party, i'm very excited about the way that that is coming out,i will certainly post links to songs once they are finished. I am also in the midst of the Da Comrade debut full lenth as well. details to come!
